The UK’s best unsigned talent in Coventry, for an exciting one night showcase!

The Empire Coventry will be the location for an incredible night of live music, taking place on Saturday 7th September 2019. Six of the most exciting unsigned acts from around the country will take to the stage and it promises to be a spectacular night.

Performing on the night are Callow Youth, a fresh four-piece band from Manchester who have a huge following already despite having released just one EP. They recently performed a stripped-back version of their latest single ‘Wake Up’ for XS Manchester Radio. The song was also played on Steve Lamacq’s BBC 6 Musicevening show.

Another band to feature on BBC 6 Music and performing on the night are Wigan- based The Lathums, who have created a huge buzz on social media recently. This was after being scouted by Tim Burgess of The Charlatans and invited to play at Kendal Calling festival. They played recently at iconic Manchester venue Jimmys to a sold-out crowd and are ones to watch for the future.

Citylightz, a five-piece hailing from Wolverhampton, will be a huge crowdpleaser. They have received comparisons to everyone from The Streets to Arctic Monkeys. They will bring huge pop hooks, indie rock rhythms and classic lyrical storytelling. Recently at Abbey Road Studios where they recorded their first album, they havereceived praise from Coventry’s own Horace Panter of The Specials.

Southpaw joins the line-up, a three-piece alternative indie rock band from Leeds. Expect rappy vocals, fast-paced punky guitar, funky basslines and blistering drumsthat BBC Introducing’s Chris Carlisle says ‘is impossible to ignore’. Their fantastic new single ‘Complacent’ will be released on 26th July.

White Flag Dares, another three-piece from Birmingham, are a collective ofmusicians whocombine their varied musical backgrounds to create ‘bold and exciting universal music’.Fronted by talented singer-songwriter Samuel Rogers, they will be bringing melodic and upbeat sounds making a great addition to the night.

Last but by no means least, are Plymouth-based indie legends Roadside. Formed in 2008 by four best friends, all of them dedicated to writing, recording and performing gigs for their own unmistakable brand of indie music. They have received airplay from BBC Introducing and have been celebrated by Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens. Roadside has recently announced the release of their new album.

The event will be a huge celebration of grassroots music and a special night to remember. After the live performances, there will be a DJ playing your favourite indie anthems.
