Every month we will shine a light and spread the word about small businesses in Coventry.
Introducing…Yes Bebe. Yes Bebe is an online shop, located in Coventry, that caters for families looking for toys, books, arts and crafts, clothes, cloth nappies and eco-living. At the heart of all their stock is their endeavour to promote ethical and fair trade products.
Yes Bebe was established in 2016 by a husband and wife team, Charlotte and Ken. After the birth of their first child, like all parents do, they wanted the best for their child and started to research and find products to keep their little one safe and healthy whilst supporting ethical companies. Their shop grew from their love of their child and is now a well established go-to website for families.
Over the years Yes Bebe has grown to include a range of different companies on their website, most notably, GRIMMS wooden toys, Sumblox, Maxomorra, Frugi, Oli Ella, and Maileg. Whilst these are some of my favourites their stockist list is extensive. The website is great for pocket money, party bag gifts, to party gifts like jigsaws and Orchard Toy games all the way through to bigger presents including balance and rocking boards.
Alongside their shop, Yes Bebe offer a range of different subscriptions including books, animal figures and arts and crafts. Back in 2016 I ordered the Holztiger Nativity set as a subscription from Yes Bebe. We bring it out every year and it something special that we truly treasure. The subscription made this affordable and ensured the completion of the set. Whilst the nativity may not be currently available there are other Holztiger subscriptions suitable for both beginner and collectors, with the ability to choose your preferences. The customer service team are extremely helpful so if you have any questions before committing to a subscription I would recommend popping them an email.
More recently we have used their book subscription service. We found this super useful over lockdown periods as we were unable to make our trips to the library (with library books from 2020 still sitting on the radiator cover to be returned!). The book subscriptions available range from age related subscriptions to more specific focuses, such as That’s Not My… Usborne books to one of their latest additions, graphic novels. The range of books we have received whilst using the subscription service has been phenomenal and has opened our eyes to a range of different books and authors.
One of the main reasons I like Yes Bebe is I know that I am supporting a local Coventry company which provides jobs to those local too. A perk to this is that you can arrange to pick up your orders and if you were slightly anxious about making a bigger purchase you might be able to arrange to pop in to view it (COVID restrictions allowing and with prior appointment planned).
