Sunday Small Business Spotlight – Fargo Village

Every month we will shine a light and spread the word about small businesses in Coventry.

Fargo Village, the alternative hot spot for creative independents located on Far Gosford Street, Coventry. Opened in September 2017, Fargo is home to around 40 independent businesses, from bubble tea to brownies, bookshops to a brewery and plenty more…although, they do not all begin with a b! I have always been a big fan of Fargo, and here are just a few of my favourites.

Bib Noodle Bar

Bib Noodle Bar offer fresh, handmade Chinese cuisine. The menu includes hand pulled made to order noodles, handmade dumplings and rice bowls with a variety of accompaniments including, chicken, beef, pork and mushroom. All of our family enjoy a visit to Bib and they are more than accomodating if you have any personal preferences or spice tolerance. The Red Braised Belly Pork and Rice is a firm favourite but we have enjoyed all of the dishes we have tried so far.

The Big Comfy Bookshop

A second hand bookshop for all ages. I always visit here in the hope of finding a gem, and I’m happy to report that I have found a few on my to be read list at The Big Comfy Bookshop. They also have a great kids section that the kids can easily peruse.

Sgt. Bilko’s Vintage Emporium

My children absolutely love a visit to Sgt. Bilko’s. The emporium stocks everything cult, from Doctor Who to Disney, badges to life size cut outs, and everything in between. We have bought a few Star Wars gifts from here including, most recently, a sequinned notebook which you can swipe to change between Jedi and Sith!

The Brownie Box by Emily

Serving freshly made brownies from container number 6 Emily offers a fabulous deal of five slices of brownie for £11. Handmade and fresh, the flavour brownies are varied and yummy! Flavours I’ve tried include, mini egg, cookies and cream, gold bar blondie and a few others! They really are brilliant and would recommend popping in to buy a box.

Who doesn’t love a brownie!?

Alongside the permanent traders, Fargo hosts regular weekend markets, to find out more visit https://www.fargovillage.co.uk/.

Fargo is a great place to visit for all the family. Let me know below if you have visited and share any gems that I haven’t yet mentioned.
